I
like the optional Morality Derangements from the Blue Book, so we
will be using them in game. It works as follows; as a character
loses Morality a test is made (in which no Willpower can be used
to augment the challenge). 8 through 10 are considered successes,
a 10 offers the usual redrawn/roll. An Ace or one is a failure which
subtracts from any successes already gained. So long as one success
remains the character is successful in retaining their morality,
and is remorseful for the act.
A loss is an immediate loss of morality, and a draw for derangement
if the act is 3 or more steps lower on the hierarchy of morality
from where the character currently sits. Should you lose this draw,
you and I will sit down and determine what manner of derangement
was caused by your act. This initial derangement will be made from
the either the Mild or Severe list depending on what the player
feels is more fitting.
If a character’s Virtue forces them into an action that violates
their morality, they will be given an additional draw/roll should
the player need it. Remember that Ones/Aces are subtracted from
successes, so it’s better for the player to call upon this
additional test only if it turns out they need the help. |
