Yorkville, the chichiest address in the city of Toronto –
you will not only find the most number of individuals with plastic
surgery walking around (Breast job, nose job, tummy tucks, facelifts)
but severely overdressed people in the middle of the afternoon sipping
their decaf non fat latte on the corner of Bellair and Cumberland.
If you want to do some serious shopping this is the place. Located
within the confines of the narrow streets synonymous with top end
retail stores you find Heaven. A six-story 71,000 sq-ft entertainment
complex like no other within the domain; Heaven is like seven clubs
in one. It offers seven distinct environments, each area corresponding
to a Level of Heaven and aptly named after its governing Archangels:
Gabriel, Raphael, Anael, Michael, Samael, Zachiel and Cassiel. Access
to higher levels of Heaven requires special status.
Gabriel (First Floor)
After walking down a dark, velvet-lined hallway, guests will emerge
into a dazzling glow of light and inspiring House beats. Decorated
in shades of white, ivory, cream, silver and blue, Gabriel
reflects light, beauty and fun. A massive crystal chandelier soars
above the dance floor. There are seven private cabanas with luxurious
white leather seating and each separated by translucent glass walls.
The dance floor features a unique atmospheric control system. When
turned on, the system submerges dancers in a dense fog of liquid
nitrogen, dramatically dropping the ambient temperature, but never
the high degree of action and energy.
Reservations are required for table seating, and guests will find
the tables are veritable conversation pieces – each one has
constantly changing images that are projected onto the tabletop.
Two of the tables (one at each end of the room) are even interactive
with images responding to touch and motion.
Raphael (Second Floor)
Elegance – with an edge. Decorated in rich red and shiny
black, Raphael is a rock star’s London bachelor pad
with Industrial and Goth tune-age. The walls are lined with plush
leather booths for bottle service guests, with a minimum bottle
requirement of $300.00 CAD. All booths overlook the sunken dance
floor complete with go-go dancer cages.
Luxuriant beds hide behind Oriental screens to offer intimate privacy.
Women used to standing in interminable bathroom lines will be happy
to find there is an unusually large restroom, and it is as lavishly
elegant as the rest of the floor featuring with large gold swan
faucet fixtures.
Anael (Third Floor)
Fourteen-foot flames illuminate an elevated dance floor as glistening
guests dance to contagious Tribal beats. A cutting-edge lighting
system washes the room in an awesome array of color and motion while
the thrumming dance floor seems to float on a bed of red fountains.
There are no booths or cabanas on Anael – this is
a place to get lost in the music, dance and passion.
Michael (Fourth Floor – Membership Access
Required)
A truly breathtaking venue, for even the most seasoned club-goer.
Dominated by a gorgeous design element – a lagoon and waterfall
– and inspired by the Garden of Eden, Michael is intimate
and sensual. With the use of luxurious materials including marble
tables, suede walls an alligator-skin booths, the entire floor exists
in perfect harmony with colors of Heavenly nature.
Disappearing sliding glass doors erase the division between private
cabanas and ensure that the waterfall is visible from any spot…
It’s an exotic, lush Paradise to the sound of sexy ambient
House and the waterfall.
Samael (Fifth Floor – Limited VIP Status
Required)
This intimate space is elegant and romantic, yet full of modern
pleasures including a private elevator requiring card key access.
It is stylishly adorned in a combination of dark wood and deep-red
drapery with soft lighting, plush furniture and a moderate-sized
dance floor. The floor features a diverse music selection which
includes house, vintage hip hop, acid jazz and funk, all mixed by
some of the world’s finest DJ’s.
Samael’s modelesque hosts and hostesses provide tableside
drink mixology, fine bottle service and signature cocktails. Bottles
are beautifully presented in a block of carved ice with a tray of
drink garnishes to match guests’ choice of alcohol.
Zachiel (Sixth Floor – Exclusive VIP Status
Required – Kindred Only)
This exclusive opulent lounge is only accessible by private elevator
requiring limited card key access from the VIP entrance on Gabriel.
Zachiel is a relaxing and sophisticated lounge adorned with
posh couches and expansive ottomans and luxurious chaise lounges.
Gleaming chandeliers, smooth hardwood floors and Louis XVI furniture
make for a refined ambience. Private areas are closed in by silky
curtains set under Roman-temple like columns.
Cassiel (Seventh Floor – Limited Exclusive
VIP Status Only – Invictus Kindred Only)
Hidden at the heart of Zachiel is the seventh level of Heaven.
Limited Exclusive VIPs will find, after swiping their access card
and reaching the sixth floor the back wall of the elevator will
open and lead them into an ante-chamber. The dimly-lit entrance
leads to a daylight bright room decorated in a garden theme.
The space features areas of actual grass, potted plants and flowers,
a raised stage and several pavilions. The largest pavilion, found
in the centre of the space and featuring gauzy drapes, has a throne
at a long table with luxurious seating for six others. The high
ceilings are covered in a large mural to appear like a summer’s
day complete with pale blue sky, glowing sun, and cottony clouds.
Cunning light from invisible fixtures provide the feel that it is
in fact daytime. The overall effect is the perfect Edwardian-day-in-the-park.
