Henry
Lange – Mekhet/Lancea Sanctum
Little
is known about Henry Lange before his arrival in York. After his
intercession between the Invictus and the American forces that seized
the fort, Lange became a permanent fixture of the court. He and
his small lineage were often seen discussing the future of Toronto
with the Invictus at such intensity that none were surprised when
Prince Braun named Lange to his advisor; forcing Hollinger out into
the wings. After the fire of 1904, understandably a rift occurred
between these once close covenants. Having escorted their founder
to safety, the descendents of the Lange lineage have maintained
their refusal to accept that he could have been across town killing
Prince Braun before witnesses. In the days following the murder
they proclaimed loudly that a full investigation should be made
of all of the Kindred of the Domain, but their pleas were met with
stiff assurances from the Invictus that Henry Lange was responsible,
the blood hunt soon followed. Ordered to remain loyal to their new
Prince, Henry Lange made his blood swear not to follow, and to keep
their distance from the violence that was soon to visit him. In
present nights there is a palatable tension when the lineage of
Lange interacts with any member of the Invictus.
Anastasia Marek – Mekhet/Lancea Sanctum
As
the eldest childe of Lange’s brood still present within the
Domain, and the attempts of reciprocation by Eliza King to the Lange
lineage, commentators of the court fully believed that Anastasia
Marek would become a force to be reckoned with within the ranks
of the Lance Sanctum. But her sire’s death had a dramatic
impact upon her actions in the decades to come, erecting walls between
her and the rest of the community. Anastasia attack upon the visiting
Prince of Montreal, Yvonne Dorat, was blamed upon her self imposed
solitude. Had she come to terms with her sire’s death they
speculate she would now be a dominant presence of the Elysium.
Gerald Lockett - Mekhet/Lancea Sanctum
The
youngest of Lange's childer, Gerald was inducted into the ranks
both for his religious fanaticism and sharp political mind, his
future in the Toronto Domain seemed to be assured. The fire, the
death of the Prince, and the fact that anyone would even believe
the claim that Henry Lange was responsible for that death drove
the young kindred first from the court; then finally from the city
itself. Enamored with the philanthropist movement of the late 1800s,
Gerald brought such practice with him to San Francisco along with
an ideology of the bourgeois showing their wealth by greater and
greater acts of charity. San Francisco has since Gerald's arrival
has become the epicenter of charitable organizations.
