Etienne
Brule – Gangrel/Circle of the Crone
The
figure of Etienne Brule has become more myth than man as the centuries
have passed. After he led the English forces against the French
at Quebec City, Brule was captured by the Iroquois who attempted
to torture him to death. Escaping his captors he is said to have
returned to the Huron, to warn them of the dark masters who lead
both the English and the French forces. Enraged that he had betrayed
the tribes agreements with the French, records suggest that the
Huron gathered together and tore Brule to pieces. Yet vampiric scholars
point to numerous eye witness accounts depicting Brule’s continued
movement before the French and English expansion further into the
continent after the Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye; always remaining
on the peripheral of kindred society. Further they point to Gangrel
across Canada who claim to be a descendent of Brule as proof that
he had survived the attack by the Huron tribe and had continued
to migrate west before European expansion. Unfortunately none of
these kindred have been able to confirm their progenitor’s
continued existence, and those found always belong to Covenants
other than the Circle of the Crone. The inability of any to meet
with a native member of the Circle of the Crone has been suggested
as a result of Brule’s resentment towards the Invictus, and
his continued campaign against their presence in North America.
Bangii
Gekek – Gangrel/Unbound
Embraced
shortly after the Prince Braun’s dealings with the Mississauga
tribe, many believed that Bangii had been embraced intentionally
to send a message to the burgeoning Invictus court. Her presence
within the domain is something of fixture. Kindred have had run
ins with her over the last two centuries; though she often seems
disinclined to engage combatively, her posture always conveys the
sense that she has decided to let the intruding kindred continue
unmolested. Some have attempted to locate her in hopes of questioning
Bangii regarding Brule, but those would be investigators find it
extremely difficult to track her down; the few who have claimed
success always say she gave them a quiet smile, leaving without
a word.
Anne Vernet - Gangrel/Carthian (Head of the Carthian
Covenant - Montreal 1875 through to present)
In
the early year of the 1800s, Anne Vernet arrived out of the north
demanding the whereabouts of her sire Etienne Brule. Concerned with
the looming threat from the south, Anne was kindly informed her
sire had not been seen in years, and that her presence would not
be tolerated long. A few nights later she disappeared from the domain,
only to return 70 years later making the same demand. It was during
this return that she turned her attention to Montreal, becoming
a fixture for the next 130 years; during which she spent intermittent
periods of time in torpor.

that nothing worth knowing can ever be taught. |
