1. Mr. Lawrence has implemented the following policy on sanctuary offered by the Ordo Dracul: One member of a given covenant may at a time request sanctuary from the Ordo Dracul until such time that the matter has been clarified. Evident that Mr. Lawrence is not interested in entertaining an entire covenant, and placing the neutrality of the Ordo Dracul into question.. 2. Sanctuary will be denied to anyone who has irresponsibly violated the Traditions.
*** Rumours leading up to this session: David Riley a few short hours after the declaration of the Prince’s Bloodhunts was escorted into the safety of Elysium by Kari Hansen and Kage. If the rumors are true, it seems that Mortimer has found the chance he has been looking for to gain acceptance back into the ranks of the Invictus. A few have noted his presence on the streets, and believe that he might be biding his time waiting for Connor Truman to surface. On the matters of the fires at the garbage transfer station, and the Executive Offices of the Rostie Group at the Queen’s Quay, the police have ruled both instances an act of vandalism. The fire at the industrial parking lot in the Yonge and Lawrence area on the other hand are still being investigated, and requests have been made by the police department for any information which may aid in their investigations. Akiva Koen normally a very reclusive man has been actively pursuing kindred who have any knowledge regarding the history of the domain (though the more notable members of the court that could easily answer his questions are being avoided by Akiva). The most violent of the city’s racks, the infamous 42 Division, has shown an increase in violence that has escalated much farther than is typical for the police response in the region. Some mutter that there might be something in the air that’s the result of all these odd happenings. Ingrid Jameson has caused some of the mutters of the goings on from the last Elysium to turn into whispers. She seems to have taken interest in any rumors having to do with her sire, and such attention has caused some discomfort for members of the court. *** At Eliza King’s gathering, called in an attempt to clarify the situation regarding the Bloodhunts and the will of the Prince, the court was taken completely by surprise. Not only was it confirmed that Connor Truman and David Riley were hunted by the Hollinger, but Eliza King was killed for her involvement in a conspiracy. Her remains were sent along to the Elysium along with a proclamation in the Prince’s hand naming Charles Martell as a co-conspirator, and that should anyone attempt to protect these individuals they will suffer the same fate. The death of Eliza King has been felt more throughout the domain then some may have thought possible. Shock reverberated in the Elysium, and even some kindred like the Carthian covenant leader Karolina Hansen was moved to tears. With the demise of Eliza King the hierarchy of the Invictus has been called into question. Many assume that Ingrid Jameson has taken over the mantle of leadership for the covenant, but with the investment of the Prince in Florian Durand as an Influential member of the court some have voiced the possibility that Florian could take leadership for himself. Many are wondering if perhaps Karolina Hansen has proclaimed herself in contention of Praxis. Moved to action by the events of the Elysium, Karolina called upon the court to resist the continued rule of the Prince, and to help heal him of the affliction which has seized him. Is it true that something is influencing the decisions of Hollinger, or are the Carthians simply making a power move, an action possibly tied to the conspiracy the Prince purports Eliza King was part of? Does John Hawk’s specific interest in the Carthians part of this attempt to seize power? Can John Hawk continue to maintain neutrality if he is involved, or are we jumping at shadows. He does after all deal with everyone. Surprisingly the famed architect, Jared Penrose, has joined ranks with the Carthians and if the rumors are true has actually gone over into their covenant leaving the Invictus. With all of this questioning of actual neutrality, and loyalty of covenant members, the Ordo Dracul has also come under scrutiny. Some are beginning to wonder if the Ordo Dracul is as neutral as they claim. Nicolas De Navarre was seen in the company of his sibling Florian Durand repeatedly over the evening, as well with his other sibling Karolina Hansen. Not to mention Ronin’s continued involvement with the Chronos Foundation. *** A letter from Connor Truman – After November 21, 2005. Dear Chester, You are free to share this: I do not want to be troublesome for you. These are difficult times Chester. I am wished luck by those who promise to hunt me. I am asked to flee by those who feel I am right to want justice. Too many feel that by my very presence—and by what they know of it—they are imperiled. Not one challenges my loyalty; no one asks me to submit. In my contemplation, I'm remembering Nuremberg. It is not enough to comply and be loyal to the ruler: you must be loyal to a higher standard; an innate justice. And should I fail this greater justice, then I will be judged; even the greatest can be judged Chester. Another confining month is before me. The sudden execution of Ms. King was unexpected; the Eliza I knew at face-value will be sorely missed in court. I have rallied what resources I have for an oak tree to be planted in the park behind old city hall in memory: something should remain for her. Please, see the tree tended for me Chester, at least for a brief while. You and I, we shall know better nights. Specifically Giovanni d’Alessandro invited the Carthians, Invictus and Unbound. Those in attendance would have heard the following: My Children, I offer this prayer to you, the Court of Toronto, in memory of Eliza King. She, of the venerable Invictus, who was Respected, Feared and deemed Fair, has been cast unto the Gates of Judgment by He, the Lord Almighty, where her sins will be laid bare next to her acts of honor. Let it be known that Eliza's fate is one that may fall upon each of our heads in this Requiem. If it be God's Will that we should suffer Final Death and, be denied the holy mission set to us by the Dark Prophet, then let it be His Will. Let us accept that His Will and His Kingdom is eternal and great and beyond our understanding. Let us know that just as it is our Divine Place to set upon the kine like wolves upon sheep so that the kine might look for salvation in His Mercy, so too, it is our Divine Place to accept Final Death if He, alone, deems it so. Let us remember the miracle of Daniel and the Theban Legion. Let us recall that Daniel, third of the Five Martyrs, was given to loss and doubt in the Word of Longinus. Recall that God sent His holy messenger, the angel Amonial, who did say unto Daniel: "In the land of Gaul, you shall find a great and terrible
war. Recall that Emperor Maximian did order his Theban Legion to do battle on the fields of Gaul and Daniel did follow them. And in the heat of battle, recall that Daniel did see the angel Amonial who said unto him: "Rise up, rise up, oh follower of Longinus. Recall that Daniel did summon a cloud of such black that it did blot out the sun. Recall that Daniel did summon fire from the sky to drive back the enemies of the Emperor. And, recall that the Legion of Thebes cried out in praise of the Almighty God in Heaven for giving them such divine victory. But let us remember, too, that the Emperor Maximian did fear the great and terrible power of the Lord. He did command his Legion to make supplication to the heathen gods of the Roman Empire. He did decree, upon pain of death, that all legions must make worship with false idols and reject the true Father. Let us recall that the Theban Legion did refuse their Emperor and for their faith were butchered upon the field of Gaul by the Romans loyal to the heathen Maximian. And when the sun did set and Daniel did arise he wept for the blood and severed heads that lay before him. Let us recall that Daniel did call upon the Father to avenge the actions of the heathen Emperor. And recall that the angel Amonial did bless Daniel with the great and terrible miracle of God's holy wrath. And in that miracle, Daniel did feel the doubt and loss of his faith come together as one Divine frenzy. He did fall upon the Roman legions and did smite them all in holy retribution. Let us know that Daniel did martyr himself in the service of the Father, the Son, and the Dark Prophet. Let us know, too, that Final Death in service to Him is part of the Divine Scheme of our Lord. Let us know that Eliza King did meet Final Death as part of His Wisdom and His Will. Praise be to God and his Dark Prophet. Amen. Father Giovanni d’Alessandro *** A letter from Ingrid Jameson - After While many are likely concerned and keeping as low a profile as possible, they inevitably become aware of this pronouncement, and the speed with which it has spread throughout the domain. A possible lifeline? A possible bid for power? A demand for normalcy? All of these questions come to mind and discussion with those willing to venture forth into the court is typical in the nights before the sudden call for Elysium. Kindred of Toronto, The past weeks have been difficult for all of us. Fear, suspicion and dread have settled upon our domain, and it is up to each of us to purge this taint. We, the Invictus, are proud to share this domain with you. The recent betrayals of trust can not and will not shake this pride in our accomplishments. We have been the defenders of Toronto and her good citizens so shall we continue to do so in these troubled nights. The perpetrators responsible for the crimes being committed against the good Kindred of this city shall be hunted down and removed; cut out like a cancer so that we may all continue. Whatever our disparate views, methods and opinions on such, I know each Covenant has the same ultimate goal - to see Toronto thrive, and flourish. A crime against this city, against the masquerade is a crime against all of us, and will be dealt with as such. I urge each of you to keep your covenant leaders updated in regards to our current struggle against the enemies of Toronto. They in turn, will keep me informed. Together, we will determine how best to proceed. In particular we must thank Karolina Hansen for her accord with the Invictus on this matter. We applaud her agreement that the expulsion of these criminals is a good means to minimizing unnecessary conflict, and hope that the wisdom of her opinion is made clear to all. Confusion
has plagued the court since the last gathering where two members
of the Carthians were Bloodhunted. Connor Truman renowned for his
loyalty to the court, affording him a measure of Respect; and David
Riley known for being Well-connected with the mortal nightlife scene,
has left many puzzled as to their crimes. Two bloodhunts being called
in the span of one evening is unprecedented in the history of the
domain, and has caught the attention of even the most causal members
of the court. In a bid to bring clarity to the situation, Eliza
King, head of the Invictus, has requested the attendance of the
court on the 20th of November, 2005 where she will disclose the
discussion she plans to have with the Prince on these matters. In
the midst of all these events the following announcements have been
made in regards to the expectations of Elysium:
