months pass in silence as kindred scurry through the streets of
Toronto, trying not to bring attention to their activities while
they wait for the powers that be to resolve the issue with Hollinger.
The silence is suddenly broken as the new Prince - and childer of
the old regime - Ingrid Jameson issues a call for the entire court
to be in attendance. No details are provided as to the why of this
Elysium, so speculation has begun to ramp up in the few days prior
to the gathering. To announce success in stopping Hollinger; No,
to let everyone know that it still stalks the streets and threatens
to hunt them down one by one; Actually it’s recruiting, and
if you’re found working for Hollinger you’ll be bloodhunted
as an enemy of the domain.

Rumours leading up to
this session:
In imitation of the New York Guardian Angels, a group of activists
from the Third Path have taken to the neighborhoods under the curfew,
in defiance of this law, but for the purpose of helping to patrol
the region and help bring an end to the violence that has been plaguing
these communities for so many years. Such altruistic actions are
welcomed as tensions have been mounting steadily in the affected
area, and were brought to the boiling point when police responded
to a fight that had broken out between rival gangs in the courtyard
of adjoining apartment buildings. The details are still confused
but according to a police spokesman shots were fired at the responding
officers; turning the conflict from an altercation into a full blown
riot as the police responded in force. Almost a hundred arrests
were made almost all on the grounds of violating the curfew, and
one youth was killed.
A number of Scarborough community leaders have come forward demanding
both that the curfew be revoked as it has only caused an increase
in violence of the region, and that the police needs to reassess
their plan of action implemented to resolve this tension. The family
of Tyrone Almon, who was killed during the riot, has added their
voice to such calls along with a demand that a full investigation
be made into his death.
On February 15th a neighborhood in the Bloor West Village along
Keele street was invaded by work crews in the early work day morning
as above average temperatures and the misfortune of a row of townhouses
being situated upon a once dried up underground river were compromised
as the moisture caused the river to become active again. Work crews
spent the day demolishing the row of houses. A few hours after the
work began a City Hall spokesperson came forward providing details
on the work, and gave assurances that they believe this to be the
only area of the city under threat. Torontonians were pleasantly
surprised to hear that the crews managed to get in and do their
work and out again in one day, allowing many of the affected lives
to return to their schedules with minimal disruption. This has caused
some criticism in City Hall noting that if crews are capable of
such accelerated work why are the pot holes along Yonge street still
an issue?
Darren Etherton acclaimed CBC anchor has broken Jared Penrose’s
self-imposed silence. It has been a number of years since the famous
architect has been seen in public and has often been referred to
as rather eccentric. Not to disappoint the skyscraper mogul had
his image blurred to help retain some privacy. Talk inevitably turned
to Mr. Penrose’s retirement which the architect has claimed
will be coming to an end. He has been inspired again and believes
Toronto has the potential to be a truly world class city with world
class architecture.
For those who actually interact with the Unaligned of the court
it is evident that they are being kept fully in the loop and like
the court have been taking steps to protect themselves during the
turmoil of Ingrid Jameson’s Praxis seizure. But even with
all manner of precautions Hollinger has still been hunting those
disloyal to his rule. A few nights after oaths of fealty were sworn
to Prince Jameson and Mortimer was brought back into the fold; the
Privilege bouncer was killed.
Surprise has been the reaction of most upon hearing the news that
a new member of the Lancea Sanctum is expected to be arriving within
the domain. Why would anyone want to come to a domain where the
court is being pulled in two different directions? Some of answered
the reason is that he is reportedly a member of the Jetter line
and might be attending upon the court to learn more about Eliza
King’s death; or the more cynical response, for the lineage
to reestablish their presence in the domain.

Elysium:
With the ascension of the new Prince, Ingrid Jameson, childe of
Richard Hollinger, the court seemed to be settling in to a return
of stability. The news that VII has been contained and no longer
able to influence Hollinger in an attempt to destroy the citizens
of the domain along with Seneschal d’Alessandro’s sermon
marked what seemed a return to normalcy for the city.
The evening saw two new visitors to the domain: one, another childe
of Prince Dorat; and the other a descendent of the Jetter lineage.
Speculation started almost immediately as to what they were here
for especially considering both came bearing messages for the Prince.
It’s said that the childer of Prince Dorat likely came with
tidings from his sire, but the Jetter who claims devotion to the
Lancea Sanctum is another matter. Who he speaks for is yet to be
determined.
The first council meeting was held in full view of the court and
has left many wondering if there is actually any value to the Tribunal
or if it simply a dog and pony show being thrown by the Invictus
to help placate the unwashed masses. Only time will tell how much
teeth they will actually be allowed.
While the allotment of Eliza King’s will held few surprises,
her words to the court did cause a stir. Specifically, her calling
out of Chester Borden to refrain from hiding from the security of
the shadows to pass judgment upon the court, or her blunt criticisms
of Florian Durand’s behavior and the necessity of his need
to act more serious if he is to earn the respect that is his due.
Interestingly, the once leader of the Invictus covenant chose to
leave Henry Lange’s walking cane, taken as trophy when she
destroyed him for his attack upon Prince Braun, to her childer Charles
Martell along with a message intended to be read in private.
Whispers have been heard that the cane is cursed and that Martell
like the others who have held the cane before will be destroyed.
The biggest commotion was caused by the defection of three kindred
at the end of the gathering into the ranks of the Ordo Dracul. Karolina
Hansen and Kage, once of the Carthians have now been accepted as
Dragons, along with Evan Drake, formerly of the Lancea Sanctum.
Giovanni d’Alessandro, upon hearing the announcement from
Mr. Lawrence that these kindred were now welcomed into the covenant,
spoke out against the Keeper of Elysium a clear sign of tensions
between these two members of the Prater lineage.
