Toronto Timeline
February 17, 2007

A year has passed since the last gathering of the court. A year for some that has been a time of tumultuous change. Some have changed political affiliations, others have made new alliances, but in many respects life has continued as normal. The stress from the closure of the hunting grounds in Scarborough throughout the area covered by 42 Division seemed minimal, but with the recent spat of violence in the nightclub district and fears that 52 Division will take the same steps as others have, that this area could become much more difficult to hunt within. Many hope that the coming Elysium being called to by Mr. Lawrence to speak with the heads of the Covenants on a topic that purports to have dire consequences, and a string of announcements that were expected to be made by the Prince (though the specific subject of these proclamations are being debated by many), there is hope that the 52 Division and the rack contained therein is a topic of discussion for the Tribunal.

Rumours leading up to this session:

The continued presence of the Third Path in Scarborough has ensured that even as the months passed and society attempted to go back to its regular patterns that the voices of those living in these neighborhoods were continually heard. A statement from the Mayor’s office was made towards the end of December hoping that with the coming New Year that the shooting of the young Scarborough resident be resolved and the perpetrators of this crime are punished. It’s becoming clear that the person actually responsible for the shooting is vaguely on the agenda, this call for punishment more likely is focused upon the police officers present when the riot erupted.

Police in the search for Harriett Sidwell have made a statement to the media that all of evidence seems to suggest that the young woman has chosen to disappear. Like many who get caught up in the world of poseur celebrity with the nights of drug abuse and partying, they believe that she has traveled elsewhere likely in the company of some of her compatriots and is enjoying the nightlife in other cities. A missing person’s case will be kept open for her in the event that further information comes forward to suggest otherwise.

With the New Year officials at City Hall have been met with a mystery. Maintenance crew arrived in the early morning of the New Year to find the Quebec flag outside of the hall inverted, beneath which a small flag had been run with the following message:

"To our lovely visitor Yvonne –
With Much Love and Kisses,
An English Admirer."

Officials are offering a small reward for any who may have information regarding this act of vandalism and were quick to offer apologies to Quebec legislature any offense given the by the flying of their flag inverted. They in typical politician fashion were clear, on repeated occasions throughout the apology, to ensure that it was evident that this act in no way reflects the opinion of any working within City Hall.

The focus by law enforcement upon the continued complaints of the Scarborough residents was placed aside last week during Valentines when a police officer was stabbed after responding to an altercation at the Tonic Nightclub, one shot while responding to a brawl at the 7 Nightclub, and another attacked and beaten to death in an alley way behind the Therapy Ultra Lounge. Law enforcement still sensitive to the problems they still face in Scarborough have decided to address this sharp increase in violence targeting police officers by flooding the entertainment district and surrounding areas with a stronger police presence. (This means that hunting is actually becoming more difficult and that this game we will be drawing for hunting).

Rumours after Elysium:

Many went to this Elysium expecting to here edicts from the new Prince. Many went to Elysium to attend business. Many went to Elysium to hear the latest news and gossip. Instead they learned about VII, and that it still looms as a threat. The leaders of the different Covenants have conveyed a meeting to share their knowledge on the danger. Another kindred has died.

As the kindred gathered at the Elysium their attention was called for, and the eloquent Mr. Lawrence informed the court of the threat of VII. A danger restrained, but one that still bears watching. This entity, for that is what the Dragon called it, is part virus, part spiritual blight. It preys upon the vices of all kindred and seduces them to the path of the VII ideology - the death of all kindred. Carried through the blood any can become infected. Though he maintained throughout his lecture that it remained dormant and could only succeed should a kindred willingly accept the promises of VII and let it in. Some were confused. Others disbelieve. But many listened anyways because it just might be true.

From the meeting it has become disseminated throughout the entire court that Justin Fairfax has become a person of interest. That the Prince actively wishes him brought into custody. That any found to be aiding and abetting him will suffer his fate whatever they may be after he has been interrogated. The death, and if the upset visage of Matthew Steward and the stunned look of Skeet Horton is any sign of the victim, of Benjamin Flatt comes on the heels of Prince Jameson’s Will being expressed. If it was Flatt, and Fairfax is the culprit, some have asked why a member of the Invictus would destroy another, and watch with interest to see how the Prince decides to resolve this matter.

Further, as the Covenant heads spread this message, another was passed along as well. It seems that the Archbishop d’Alessandro has been removed from his capacity as the Seneschal of the domain. Believing his skills best suited elsewhere, Prince Jameson has adopted for the time being to leave the position vacant. Will another be placed in his stead, or like her sire has the Prince decided to keep her own confidences on the rule of the domain. Will other positions or bodies established early in her reign suffer the same fate?
