Out of Game Announcements for June

As usual doors will open at 6PM in the Reading Room, and game will start at 7PM.

This game I would like to get some photos of the costuming of any of the characters we missed last time, or any of the family pictures which have changed since last time, and place it up on the website. If interested please approach Nicole as she will before game take pictures with our digital camera.

While the Carthians are holding a Parliament this gathering to discuss the Masquerade and efforts to coordinate activities between the citizenry to better address any strains placed upon it; this will also be a regular night of Elysium. This is not like the trial – you will not be expected to pay attention to the proceedings of the parliament if you’re not interested. The usual hustle and bustle of a gathering should also be expected. Need to find someone; Elysium is usually a good place to start. Need to finalize some details with a number of different people; again Elysium tends to be a good place for meeting a group. So yes, while the Carthians have asked the Ordo Dracul to open the doors of the Elysium for their parliament, others are welcome to enjoy the Elysium and see to any of their business they might use the building for. The parliament is going to be placed at one end of the room so those who are interested can join the Carthians there for their assembly.

This is the last session of the first story. This means a couple of things:

1. Congratulations are in order to everyone to date for making this the most enjoyable LARP experience I have ever had. You all deserve a round of applause – especially this time around Ryon for willing to be one of the first villains of the game and take his lumps for his character’s actions.

2. Another round of applause to the people who have helped make this game happen. Whether by participating as a narrator, or helping provide costuming, or any of the innumerable requests I’ve made in these four months of game play, thank you.

3. I will be giving out the end of Chronicle XP ahead of time as I would like to allow all the characters to make some of their larger purchases now as we’re about to make a transition between the first story and into the second.

4. For those who are having trouble with their character and the entertainment they’re getting from the role; this session being story light on my end means that more of the game will be player driven. Things that are coming up, and shifts being made will for the most part coalesce around this session. Take this as an opportunity to reexamine the place that you see for your character in the game. Maybe your character has decided that they don’t like a specific member of the court and want to see them discredited in the public court of opinion. Or begin the process of creating a coterie. While safe by yourself; you can get so much more done when you and a group work towards a shared goal. Perhaps they come to a realization that changes them at the very core of their being and they reevaluate the covenant that they claim membership in. Anything that you think would help bring more life into the character and help make your gaming experience more enjoyable. Now is the time to think about it. Look at this session as a chance to bring the first story to a wrap and start your character upon theirs.

5. With the start of the new story an up coming plot can be a good time for new players to join the game – as there are always roles that will be need to be filled to help realize the story fuller. This is a good time for you to invite someone out that you’ve been dying to play with, or think might have fun with the game and haven’t come out yet. There’s a list at the moment of character concepts that might be of interest to potential players. Even if in the end they decide on something else, it’ll at least give them a sense of the direction the story already being created by our combined efforts, and help them create a character that will best fit with what we already have in play. So, if they’re out there, and you think they might have some fun at the game, give them my email and have them drop me a line.

6. Like the transition between the prelude and the first story I’ll be readjusting the status throughout the city. If there is a specific status you think your character exemplified during this story line, or believe that a status should change because you’re not quite that thing anymore please send me an email with the details for such. I will be the final arbiter though, and will decide how the status will look. This must be submitted to me by the end of Sunday.

7. Remember, if you ever want to suggest an in game reason for one of the gatherings, please feel free to drop me a line with the details and we can work something out.
