Masquerade – Prince Hollinger like his predecessor
Prince Braun has maintained that any breach of this tradition which
goes unreported are grounds for immediate death. Should a Kindred
come forward before the court, taking the issue to their Covenant
Leader, leniency is to be given to the offender. Often debts are
transferred among those involved in covering up the breach.
Amaranth – Under Prince Braun diablerie was punishable
in all instances with death. Under Prince Hollinger diablerie has
become an accepted method of punishment for the crime of destruction.
In all matters Prince Hollinger has reserved the right of destruction
for himself, any found guilty of such a crime are immediately blood
hunted, and the offender’s blood becomes the prize for any
willing to hunt them. Those who accept and fulfill the blood hunt
are required to bring some proof of their success back to the court.
Later in the year 1813, after Fort York was sacked, and Armand
Winters disappeared to the South, Prince Braun made the following
announcement:
In this place that we build to become our new homes far from
the soil of our homelands, the community must be protected and encourage
to over come difficulties by word and not the stroke of a sword.
To this end the grounds of the Winters Elysium are to be considered
by all Kindred of this domain as sacrosanct. Kindred and their retinues
are forbidden to carry weapons within the confines of Elysium. Should
the Master of Elysium discover that a Kindred has dared ignore this
edict, the Master of Elysium is fully within their rights to punish
the transgressor as they see fit. This includes the right to have
the offender killed for violation of this trust.
While Prince Hollinger has not openly approved of this edict, his
silence has been seen construed by the court as acceptance on this
matter, though rumors circulate that the Prince had attempted with
the old Master of Elysium, Kathrine Querry, to permit the officers
of his court the privilege of carry weapons in attendance of Elysium.
Progeny – Due to the trial of Justin Fairfax the court
now enjoys the understanding that all matters regarding the creation
of childer within the domain of Toronto is to be brought before
Prince Jameson who will sanction or refuse the request. She maintains
that this is her right as the Prince and requires all members of
the domain to adhere to this law. Punishment for violation of this
crime could result in the offending vampire’s death. Under
Prince Hollinger the trial has illustrated that matters of progeny
were largely left in the hands of the covenant leaders – that
is if the ramblings of the deranged Anastasia Marek, as understood
by Justin’s own understanding of the circumstances surrounding
his embrace and the tacit permission he believed given him by her
before she was beaten into torpor, are to be believed.
